Here we see a BMW parked pretty obviously in motorcycle parking, at the absolute closest point to the entrance of the building possible. Notice all of the open parking spaces about 20 feet further away also in the picture? Asshat.
Now, I'll admit that the spaces may not be labeled as "motorcycle parking", but the following pictures will illustrate the level of spacial inattentiveness that went into this parking job.
See how well a motorcycle fits into the spot?
Not so much with the BMW.

The way it looks in the first picture i wouldnt say asshat, okay i would but i think there is a great amount of dumb included too.

But also that level of self importance and lack of empathy that makes this a classic example of asshat parking

Maybe he thought he was on a BMW motorcycle?

God help anyone with this much spacial awareness who tries to ride a bike.

Nothing obvious about it. Its not labeled motorcycle parking only. Plenty of spots for you and him. Get over yourself.
How lazy can you be?

If an average sized car does not fit into a parking spot, then it is not a parking spot.
And in any case the car is double parked and well outside of the lines.

Do you know what double parked means?
He is not double parked.

The picture does not capture it properly, which is why I took the other 2 for comparison. There is a line directly under the centerline of his car, thus he is taking up two spaces, thus he is double parked.
Do you notice how the motorcycle takes up a certain amount of space in a spot? Look at the distance from the wheels of the bike to the parking lines, compare this to the amount of distance between the BMW and the lines. The guy is definitely double parked.

He is not taking up two spaces. Also, please look up what double parking means.

There is a parking space line, located right under the car here.

Yes he is, I have annotated the image to illustrate my point.
And I guess technically, it could be referred to as multi-space parking (still listed under "double parking" in wikipedia)

Where is the second spot he's occupying?
Check that wiki again for "erroneously".
"And I guess technically" = not double parked

Well, as I've been saying the front half of his car occupies one space, the back half of his car occupies another space. Last I checked 1+1=2.
And I'm going to call BS on your statement, anyone I know would call the following double parking
The guy in my picture did almost exactly the same thing, just on a different axis.

I saved the file, zoomed in and increased the brightness. I can now see the two spots, so you are right there, but its still not double parking.
You quoted a wiki article but want to ignore parts of it. Its just asshat, not double parking.
This car is double parked.

There have been plenty of times that my 2dr could not fit between the lines that were painted in a lot. But, that doesn't mean the spot wasn't for cars, the asshat that painted them just made them too small.
Motorcycle only parking is usually marked as such. And more often than not, is perpendicular to the curb. Don't particularly like this parking job, but I'd say more idiot than asshat.

Fair enough, I can accept that I'm wrong there. In my defense however, "multi space parking" is colloquially known as "double parking" in my area.

Great points, 1) just because your car doesn't fit, doesn't mean "it is not a parking spot". 2) motorcycle only parking is labeled and almost always perpendicular. Also, not double parking.

Both good points, in this particular facility none of the motorcycle spots (including perpendicular ones) are labeled, it is just assumed that people will use some common sense and notice that there are two types of parking with drastically different sized spots.

I apologize for being a stubborn jerk. There was no need to attack a technicality and you didn't deserve it. I am sorry. Also, nice bike.

It's all good man, now I know what double parking actually is and will be better prepared to call out bad parking properly in the future.
Plus, I admit it was a pretty poor picture.

Either is possible with BMW owners, but I'd probably chalk this one up to simple ignorance, rather than maliciousness.
(Nice looking E46, though)
